A group of D.C. musicians have recorded a post-punky tribute to detained Russians Pussy Riot. And it’s pretty good.
The title, “Already Winning,” is not a regrettable nod to Charlie Sheen, but a reference to Nadezhda Tolokonnikova‘s sixth letter from prison. (The original quotation: “Whatever Pussy Riot’s verdict is, we all are already winning. This is because we have learned how to be angry and vocal politically.”)
According to dclovespussyriot.com, “Already Winning” is the work of local musicians Bryan Gerhart, Laura Zax, and Nick DePrey.
