There was no bigger party happening in town on Friday night than the one Bruce Springsteen hosted at Nationals Ballpark. Clocking in at three-and-a-half hours, the set list pulled from all parts of his illustrious discography and included covers, like the encore-closer “Twist and Shout” (“This one’s for the Navy!,” he said), and the “Detroit Medley,” a mix of two Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels songs, and two by Little Richard. Part Irish wake, part dance party, it was a full-on celebration; love him or loathe him, Springsteen still knows how a rock concert should be done.
