The annual Virgin Mobile FreeFest is set for Saturday at Merriweather Post Pavilion, and if you’re one to plan ahead for a day of concertgoing, here’s the schedule of performances. Looks like you can get all your local listening done early: Dismemberment Plan, Alvin Risk, and (the totally ascendant) Volta Bureau all play before dinner.
The schedule seems to get more outre as you scan from left to right, so there shouldn’t be too many conflicts, whoever you are. (Confidential to Messrs. Folds, Jessee, and Sledge: One of D-Plan’s new songs contains a “Ben Folds moment.”) Sadly, the schedule seems to rule out a Nas/ZZ Top collab, which, no seriously, wouldn’t be a stretch for at least one party.
