In celebration of World Vegan Day today, Busboys and Poetsis offering a special three-course vegan lunch and dinner for $21.95. The menu includes an arugula salad with roasted pine nuts, pomegranate, and a lemon vinaigrette; orzo pasta with sweet potato, asparagus, shallots, shiitake, red pepper, and kale; and a vegan chocolate chip cookie. In other vegan news, PETA has named Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats one of the top 10 restaurants in the country for a vegan BLT. The Columbia Heights spot makes its version with tempeh bacon, lettuce, tomato, and Vegenaise instead of mayo. (Jessica Sidman)
