Now that Adams Morgan’s Red Onion Records has dropped the “Books” part of its name—-along with most of its literary stock—-owner Josh Harkavy has installed a new sign.

Designed by Landover’s Jack Stone Signs, the new look is pretty swank, and definitely an improvement on the old one. Harkavy says Adams Morgan Main Street picked up the tab.

In the last year, Red Onion has gone from definitely closing to definitely not closing to shedding its books to installing a new sign. Judging from the number of concerts it’s hosted lately, not to mention the quality of its new and used records, it seems Red Onion is here to stay. If you’re in the neighborhood Sunday evening, stop by the shop to see “psychedelic Appalachia” fingerpicker Daniel Bachman play a free in-store show.
