We were so busy slobbering over Gems‘ new “Pegasus” song that we neglected to mention this equally exquisite tune from the D.C. dream-pop duo: “Never Age,” recently released on a limited-edition 7-inch from San Francisco’s Turntable Kitchen. (The 7-inch has since sold out.)
D.C. fans missed a chance to see Gems last week when the band’s show at Rock & Roll Hotel was scuttled due to a fraudulent winter weather event. But for those in Austin this week, the band has a grip of dates lined up for SXSW.
Listen to the wistfully pretty “Never Age” after the jump—-and someone tell me I’m not the only one who detects a smidgen of the deceased Mick Karn in that bass line.
