The building that houses Rock & Roll Hotel at 1353 H St. NE is on the market for $3 million, according to a listing on loopnet.com. But the club doesn’t plan to vacate anytime soon.

The property is owned by a family that bought the property in the 1980s; Rock & Roll Hotel owner Joe Englert does not own the building. But the H Street business owner tells Washington City Paper via email that the club’s lease doesn’t expire for another 14 years, and he’s interested in buying.

D.C. company Jackson Prentice Real Estate Services, LLC, is handling the sale of the 7,494 square foot property, which was assessed in 2013 for $1,140,830. According to tax records, the property tax bill on the building has skyrocketed since 2005, when the city took in about $5,190 on it each year. Now the bill runs close to $19,000 annually.
