This afternoon on Twitter, hometown hip-hop star Wale announced that his third studio album will be titled The Gifted, and it’s expected to drop June 25. No word on whether the title of Wale’s new album was influenced by Nina Simone’s 1970 song “Young, Gifted, and Black,” but we can speculate.

Wale also appeared on BET’s 106 & Park this evening to premiere the video for “Bad,” his collaboration with Tiara Thomas. That came right after the premiere of yet another video, this one for “The Show,” a track from his Folarin mixtape featuring Rick Ross and Aaron Wess.

The Gifted will be the followup to Wale’s second studio album, 2011’s Ambition (which Andrew Noz critiqued in-depth in a critical City Paper cover story). While you wait for Wale’s third proper album—-not to mention the promised collabo with Jerry Seinfeld—-watch Wale’s new videos after the jump.
