You can’t really appreciate Black Alley until you see the band live. Not that Black Alley’s 2012 “street album,” Soul.Swagger.Rock. Sneakers, wasn’t a good showing—-it’s just that there’s nothing like watching the crew perform in front of dedicated fans at Bar 7 or LIV.
Out today, Black Alley’s Live From RnR Hotel DC captures the band’s raucous—-and crowded—-performance from last year’s album release party. It contains all the rock freak-outs and go-go breakdowns typical of a Black Alley live performance. There’s even a feature from D.C. soul singer Raheem Devaughn.
