Hey stoners: D.C. sludge-rock band Borracho released its latest EP, Oculus, today, and you should listen to it, because it’s pretty awesome in the same way Fu Manchu‘s In Search Of is forever awesome.
The last time Arts Desk checked in with Borracho, it was a foursome, and local brewery Port City was getting ready to release a beer named after the band. Now the crew has been pared down to a tidy trio, with singer Noah working abroad for the foreseeable future. Guitarist Steve Fisher has capably taken over the mic on Oculus—-and you can practically hear the beard in his voice.
The band says it’s already working on new material and plans to drop a few singles between now and Oculus‘ vinyl release this fall.
Stream Oculus below and pick it up on Bandcamp for a very reasonable $5. Oh, and see the bleeding riffs in person tomorrow night when Borracho plays Rock & Roll Hotel. The band plans to hand out free download cards from the merch table.
