A perplexing “TBA” spot usually sits on the tail end of Fort Reno’s schedule each year, often for The Evens or another D.C. legacy group (long-awaited Fugazi reunion? We keep dreaming). But this year, The Evens opened the series, and instead of a “TBA” we got Paint Branch, the duo featuring former Q and Not U bandmates Chris Richards and John Davis. Their breezy, ’70s folk-inspired jams should make for a perfect closing act. Pack your picnic basket, gather your friends, and trek out to Tenleytown one last time. Chef Robert Wiedmaier opens the third location of Mussel Bar & Grille in Ballston today. Located in a former Chevrolet dealership, the rock ‘n’ roll-themed gastropub has a “dive-bar-meets-raw-American industrial look,” according to a press release. On the menu, you’ll find—of course—mussels as well as pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and grilled items from steaks to swordfish.
