Everything’s coming up roses and mistletoe at Signature Theatre. That’s the plan, anyway. Tonight the theater opens what it hopes will be a high-grossing holiday production of the classic musical Gypsy. Signature has long specialized in the musicals of Stephen Sondheim, and that’s what Gypsy is—sort of. Sondheim wrote only the lyrics, but they’re pretty darn famous refrains, including, “And if you’re real good, I’ll make you feel good.” Read more >>> The show runs Dec. 17 to Jan. 24 at Signature Theatre, 4200 Campbell Ave., Arlington. $29–$69. EAT THIS

A second location of Stoney’s opens in the West End today. Expect mostly the same food as the Logan Circle location, including the restaurant and bar’s famous super grilled cheese. There are also some new additions, like Sriracha honey lime wings and Baja fish tacos. The new, more modern space includes 24 beers on draft and a handful of cocktails, including a gin and whiskey rickey. Not to be missed is the wall-length mural, which features Stoney’s facades throughout the ages alongside pandas and presidents. Read more on Young & HungryStoney’s, 2101 L St. NW. (202) 721-0019. (Jessica Sidman)
