HO HO WHO?: The Chicago Gay Hockey Association covers Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas is You,” creating a yuletide video for fans of both Esther Williams and Wayne Gretzky. Turns out hockey players in a chorus line is all I wanted for Christmas.
STOCKING FULL OF GOAL: “All I Want for Christmas is You” is such a silver bullet of a yuletide cheer that even a cover by, I dunno, a league of tone-deaf washing-machine mechanics would likely be charming. A few of these guys can actually carry a tune (though #realtalk it’s sort of heartwarming when people who do not sound like a finalist on The Voice sing with confidence and gusto), and the Mariah Carey impression at 0:25 might be unintentional but it’s spot-on. Also, this isn’t the first time the Chicago Gay Hockey Association has taken to Youtube; it’s also made videos in support of the It Gets Better Project and the You Can Play Project, which supports LGBT athletes.
GIFT-WRAPPED PENALTY BOX: MOAR ICE DANCING PLZ.
CHEER FACTOR: 10/10.
