Dunc has a busy year ahead. DTMD, his duo with rapper Toine, plans to drop a three-track EP called 3 & Out in the next few weeks. Later this year, DTMD will release a full-length album, Reset, which Dunc says is completely different from the group’s 2011 debut, Makin’ Dollas.

Not only that, Dunc is finishing his own instrumental album—-tentatively called Cycles—-that fuses an electronic sound with live instrumentation. Dunc dropped three tracks on his Soundcloud page last night, all of which deviate from his usual brassy soul loops. “Devonshire Pl.,” in particular, is an extended jam session with fellow producers 00Genesis and Drew Kid. “Solar Breeze” blends mellow drums and warm synths. “West Coastin” seems inspired by his recent trip to Los Angeles, as Dunc rides a Cali-inspired G-funk groove.
