Following his signing to MMG, D.C. rapper Fat Trel has been picking up the pace lately. His latest offering, “In My Bag,” features Trel and Wale embarking on a journey of self-indulgence. The labelmates trade a series of stunt-heavy, I-do-this-and-you-can’t lyrics over an icy, hypnotic beat. If being in your proverbial bag is about dwelling deep in your own universe, Trel and Wale inhabit their own worlds, and my are they ever feeling themselves. Hell, Wale’s “I don’t even brag” claim in the chorus is a brag.

“In My Bag” is a strong showing from Trel, a blend of MMG polish and his typical, hooligan-centered fare. The track is billed as the lead single from his upcoming mixtape, Gleesh, which has a promised release date of April 1.

Also new: Trel offered a “slutty” rendition of Ty Dolla $ign’s “Or Nah” in which he poses inappropriate questions in a sedated haze while reflecting on his raison d’être: “Got no job, just countin’ bands with my squad. ” Ah, the good life.
