It’s been a while since DTMD dropped new music. Released in 2011, the duo’s impressive debut, Makin’ Dollas, was a clear-headed tribute to dream chasing, even if rapper Toine and producer Dunc were still trying to forge a creative path. These days, the collaborators are working on their own solo projects: Dunc is finishing an instrumental album, and Toine is wrapping up his solo LP, Antoine Jameson.
Today, DTMD returns with 3 & Out, a quick four-song EP that features rappers godlyMC, Cortez, and BOOM. Much like their previous work, 3 & Out is laid-back and lyrical. Like on “The Anthem”: “I hold the mic more than I hold a job/So my job should be to hold the mic, right?” Clearly, Toine and Dunc are still chasing the dream. That’s a good thing.
