Let us tell you the information you need to register and cast a ballot in D.C.

Arcade Fire came to the Verizon Center last night, armed with their approximately 106 band members, their costumes, their energy, and those papier-mâché heads. The show kicked off with the wild destruction of a snare drum held aloft by keyboardist Will Butler, and ended with the anthemic sound of “Wake Up.”

But for Fugazi fans, the highlight (or, depending on your perspective, the lowest of low points) was Arcade Fire’s cover of “Waiting Room” in the encore. Covering Fugazi in D.C. is tricky: If you don’t nail it, you’ll be crucified. But the band did it justice, and that iconic bass line sounded tremendous in such a big space.

Another cool note: $1 from every ticket sold went to Partners in Health, a charity that does healthcare work in Haiti.
