This year’s already had it’s share of excellent post-punk singles: Parquet Courts‘ languid, slow-burning “Instant Disassembly”; Ought‘s Tom Verlaine-esque epic track, “Habit.” Now, you can add last week’s “Apple King” to that list. The song, from the local rockers of BRNDA, calls to mind Architecture in Helsinki‘s goofy, dance-rock stylings mixed with Pere Ubu‘s squawky, anxious vocals.

Stream it out below and catch the band on Oct. 6 at the Rocketship with Spoonboy and Radiator Hospital.
