For all the well-earned love Ex Hex has gotten for its sunny rock tracks and cheeky videos, listeners would be forgiven for thinking the band’s been around for ages. But at just around a year old, this power trio’s set to drop its debut LP on Merge Records next Tuesday, a bright collection of short, guitar-centered anthems that pays worthy homage to its ancestors in the indie, glam, and punk bloodlines. Today, it’s streaming in full on NPR Music. Sing along to Mary Timony, Laura Harris, and Betsy Wright‘s defiant, earwormy hooks and look out for our review later this week.
