Your dream of seeing Rosie O’Donnell perform stand-up (like she did on Star Search back in the ’80s) at Brightest Young Things’ Bentzen Ball this weekend has been cut short. Due to a family emergency, O’Donnell’s show with Tig Notaro at the Lisner Auditorium has been canceled. Ticketholders will receive an automatic refund.

But don’t let the cancellation disappoint you too much, as the Bentzen Ball’s lineup remains packed with performances by local and national comedians well worth seeing. In addition to headlining the opening night show at the Lincoln Theatre on Wednesday, Notaro will appear at Sunday night’s closing ceremony with Reggie Watts of Comedy Bang Bang and Baltimore’s Wham City Comedy. She’ll also host a dumpling-making class at the Source on Saturday morning if you like your stuffed rice paper bunches with a side of humor.

As for Saturday night’s best bet, treat yo’ self to Retta‘s stand-up set at 9:30 Club if you want to hear her thoughts about shirtless Hollywood hunks.
