This week, the Breaks goes on a wild robbery with Logic before mellowing out with a Beyond Modern remix. Plus, Yung Gleesh‘s dance that set fire to the Internet last week somehow managed to get even bigger.
Logic Finds Himself Under Pressure in His Intense New Video
With a little over a week remaining before the release of Logic’s debut album, Under Pressure, the Maryland rapper released the music video for the title track. The visual, which feels like a scene from a Michael Mann film, matches the title perfectly.
Stephen Wayne Mallet directed the video, which opens like Reservoir Dogs with breakfast and random conversation. The six-minute clip quickly escalates into a heist that’s both gripping and shockingly violent. The decision to film it POV-style makes viewers feel every punch and the adrenaline of pulling off a crime amid a hailstorm of bullets.
It’s also a compelling statement from Logic. The video was his vision, and the desperation felt during the heist is a metaphor for the rapper’s feeling about his career—-the stakes are high, but he’s dedicated to the mission. Under Pressure is due out on Oct. 21.

More New Music from Beyond Modern
Aware that fans are eagerly waiting its upcoming Distorted Reality Pt. 1 project, D.C. hip-hop duo Beyond Modern decided to drop a remix of Deron’s “Rolex” as a hold-over. This transitional gem does not disappoint.
Beyond Modern’s Sur Jazz makes slight alterations to a beat that takes listeners away to the comfort of beaches and slightly warmer weather. His comrade Mick Marx complements Deron’s verse, reflecting on attempts to break the monotony of the nine-to-five life.
All the music that Beyond Modern has teased listeners with in 2014 has been strong, and this is no different.
The Legend of Yung Gleesh’s Dance Continues
The last 30 days have been great to Yung Gleesh. First came the release of his Cleansides Finest 3 project, and then he received an unexpected promotional boost last week thanks to his hilarious appearance in Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky’s “Multiply” video.

The release of NBA 2K15 this week revealed that Gleesh’s scene-stealing dance has been immortalized by the video game.

The game’s attentive developers incorporated little quirks like celebrations and dances into the latest version, allowing gamers to execute signature moves like Gleesh’s. This will expose the D.C. rapper to a new audience equally eager to see him show off his footwork as they are to hear him rap.
I can’t help but wonder what this phenomenon will grow into during the coming weeks.
