The power-pop heroes of Title Tracks played DC9 last night, their first live show in 10 months. Armed with a cadre of new songs that the band is taking to the studio to record next month, Title Tracks’ new stuff sounds a little darker than its previous releases. But it’s still solid as ever, filled with lead singer-guitarist John Davis‘ spot-on songwriting and winning guitar hooks (“Protect Yourself” just plain slays). Title Tracks isn’t flashy or fancy onstage, but the trio’s songs are ones I’m always happy to get stuck in my head. It’s great to have them back.
