Wale is no stranger to the White House, but last night’s visit was special: He became the first rapper to open for a President’s State of the Union address.

Those who tuned in to the State of the Union address before President Barack Obama took to the podium last night were treated to a surprise set by D.C.’s own Wale, who ripped through hits such as “Chillin'” and “LoveHate Thing” at the White House’s official SOTU watch party. Wait, did you catch that? Did Wale just announce a new album? “My name is Wale. My fifth album, Shine, 2016.” I think he just did.
