Wale is no stranger to the White House, but last night’s visit was special: He became the first rapper to open for a President’s State of the Union address.
Those who tuned in to the State of the Union address before President Barack Obama took to the podium last night were treated to a surprise set by D.C.’s own Wale, who ripped through hits such as “Chillin'” and “LoveHate Thing” at the White House’s official SOTU watch party. Check out the performance below:
Wait, did you catch that? Did Wale just announce a new album? “My name is Wale. My fifth album, Shine, 2016.” I think he just did.
