The first thought I had after seeing the video of undercover journalists James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles punking the ACORN offices: “I can’t believe ACORN would encourage these people to catch a tax break on the importation of underage prostitutes from South America!”

My second thought: “I can’t believe ACORN believes this dude is a pimp!”

Giles and O’Keefe posed as a prostitute and pimp in order to fool ACORN staffers into providing some illegal advice. Giles showed up in next to nothing. O’Keefe arrived looking like he had recently crawled from a frat house basement:

If he wears a pimp coat, carries a pimp cane, and has a pimp jacket on his head, he must be a pimp! Auguste at Pandagon was also confused that ACORN bought the costumes. “I can’t imagine how anyone ever took them seriously enough to not laugh them out of the office,” Auguste wrote. “Until absolutely proven otherwise, I say that every ACORN employee including the ones in the ‘most damning’ video were, at worst, trying not to upset the crazy people.”

I’m sorry, but providing tips on how best to ship kids to America to prostitute them is a little farther than I’d go to be nice to crazy people. To me, ACORN’s inability to filter out masked avenger pimps from the real deal proves only that they don’t help pimps out with their tax forms that often.
