On Monday we learned about rising used homes sales—-or “existing homes” in industry lingo. Then today, the Commerce Department reported that new home sales rose 4.7 percent to an annual pace of 337,000 in February after a 322,000 rate in January. Of course, the news wasn’t all positive: The median sales price has dropped 18 percent since February of 2008, “the biggest year-on-year drop since records began in 1964,” according to Bloomberg News.
