Note to my former landlord: Now’s a good time to get those drafty windows fixed. The door by the garage that’s practically porous should go too. President Barack Obama‘s stimulus plan has ramped up a tax credit for energy-efficient home improvements. The tax credit used to be for 10 percent of the cost of upgrades—-now, it’s for 30 percent of the cost.

Here’s a press release from the National Fenestration Rating Council with more information on what products qualify for the credit.  The improvements need to be made in 2009 and 2010.
