The Capitol Riverfront still has a long way to go before it gets that neighborhoody feel. But one giant step in the right direction will be the opening—-and occupation—-of the Velocity Capitol Riverfront, a condo high-rise at 1025 First Street S.E.
The building is right around the corner from the Navy Yard Metro station, and a few blocks from the stadium, which is in turn, a few blocks from the Anacostia River—-or as the local BID would like you to call it, the “Capitol Riverfront.”
Starting his weekend, the building will be holding first glimpse model tours by appointment. (Hat tip to UrbanTurf.)
Velocity’s sales office opened late last year. As of late January, 21 units had sold, according to this press release from Velocity Capitol Riverfront. The building will include a rooftop pool. Studios and 1-Bedrooms start in the low $300s, 1-Bedroom/Dens start from the low $400s, Two-bedrooms start from the high $400s and 2-Bedroom/Dens start from the upper $400s.
