In order to avoid the same scrutiny John McCain endured over his real estate, it appears Mitt Romney is selling off his homes—-or you know, just “simplifying” as spokesperson Eric Fehrnstrom calls it.

Back in February, news broke that the Romneys had listed two of their four homes: A retreat in Utah, and their suburban Boston house. Well if property downsizing equals progress toward the White House, looks like Romney just leapt closer.

His ski lodge just sold for a little less than the asking price, $5.25 million.
