Most new mobile phone applications are shrug-worthy. This one strikes me as genius.
Here’s the idea: Drivers report cameras, police waiting locations and other speed traps to website Trapster.com, and people can sign up to receive alerts of these devilish spots from their phone as they’re driving.
I’m not even a regular driver anymore—-and yet somehow this feels like sweet revenge for my ticket on Connecticut Avenue a few years back. (I was late to an interview god dammit!)
Anyway, the more people that use Trapster, the more comprehensive it becomes. Here’s a link to the Trapster map tool, which shows all reported trouble spots.
