Edens and Avant, the retail developer that brought Results Gym, a beautiful Safeway, 5th Street Hardware store, Chevy Chase Bank, Busboys and Poets and a second location of Taylor Gourmet—pretty much the best new collection of retail in D.C.—- to City Vista is setting its sights on NoMa now.
The group will be in charge of developing 450,000 square feet of retail space, as part of the recently approved Florida Avenue market plan, according to the Washington Business Journal. (You know the low-slung, rather decrepit looking industrial buildings off Florida Avenue just as you enter Northeast? That’s what were talking about here. Actual boundaries: 3rd Street NE to the west, New York Ave to the north, 6th Street NE to east, and Florida Avenue to the south, according to council legislation.
