Zillow seems a little late to the game on this one.
The mammoth housing website just announced this morning that it will now list rental properties. Previously, Zillow was known for its home value estimates, and its do-it-yourself listing strategy. But until this morning—-after, you know, years of the foreclosure crisis, and through 2008 when people all but stopped purchasing homes entirely—-Zillow apparently didn’t have rental listings.
Already, they’re boasting about the response to their announcement, writing a blog post with the first ten rental listings and excitedly reporting “Last night, we launched our rentals product. Due to the lateness of the launch, we expected only a small audience of property owners and property managers to notice. But, who knew there are so many nite owls looking for ways to market their properties — especially on the East Coast!”
