As City Desk’s Mike DeBonis reported yesterday, Wilson Senior High School will soon be under renovation. Actually, the city’s official groundbreaking was today, and initial work will begin during Winter break. But the students will remain in their usual building until the end of the year—-then they’ll be heading over to classrooms on the University of the District of Columbia’s campus.
When they return to their Tenleytown school in 2011, they will stroll into a structure updated by Cox Graae + Spack Architects (GCS) of Washington. The city chose the firm through a competitive process, which drew 21 proposals for the first round.
