Let us tell you the information you need to register and cast a ballot in D.C.

This is not how it’s supposed to be.

Two days before the new year, we should be making our little resolutions and hoping that next year somehow miraculously is better—-or at least different in an enlightening, transformative kind of way.

But no! Today, we’ll think about grocery bags and parking fees. It’s the big story of the moment: Come Friday, District residents will need to pay 5 cents for every plastic bag they use, and soon after that, parking meters—-nearly 15,000 of them—-are going up to $2 an hour.  The Washington Post has a front page story about the changes.
