What's cracking? The Avenue's cracking.

Bisnow got a tour around the curvaceous, glassy building south of Washington Circle, long known by its location as Square 54, which has been christened The Avenue. So cosmopolitan..so transit-oriented…even literary!

The real story, though, is that Boston Properties has accomplished a feat for this market, with 100 percent of its retail leased before delivery: A child development center, a yet-to-be-named 38,000 square-foot gourmet grocery, an American brasserie-style restaurant, a bank, a Devon & Blakely, a Mediterranean grill, and a salad and frozen yogurt store have all signed on. Three quarters of the office space already accounted for, and its 335 luxury apartments (called The Residences at The Avenue, naturally) will start selling later this year.
