Ward 3 Councilmember Mary Cheh has no declared opponent in her race for reelection. But the building industry has her back anyway: Next Thursday, the Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington PAC, the DC Building Industry Association PAC, and the Apartment and Office Building Owners PAC will host a joint cocktail reception and fundraiser for the councilmember. The location? 3333 Wisconsin Avenue, naturally—luxury apartments built by W.C. Smith Construction.

Also today in fun developer political involvement, Mike DeBonis reviews Adrian Fenty‘s new ads, which feature the principals of Blue Skye Construction and Capital Services Management, Inc. Both have each recieved millions in contracts from the D.C. government and donated the maximum allowable amounts to Fenty’s campaign. Seems like a weird time to show how many developers who do business with the city are in favor of your reelection, but hey, what do I know about politics.
