Welcome to August, when nothing happens—no ANC meetings, no Zoning Commission, no City Council, even Greater Greater Washington is taking a vacation! Well, almost nothing. Here are a few vaguely real estate-related events of note. I’ll add if I come upon more.
10:45 a.m. – Mayoral ribbon-cutting at new Shaw library, 7th and Rhode Island NW.
ALL DAY – Design DC Conference in the Convention Center. Through Thursday.
6:30 p.m. – Tenants Advocacy Coalition Candidates Forum. Sumner School, 1201 17th Street NW.
6:30 p.m. – Metro Riders Advisory Council meeting. 600 5th Street NW.
ALL DAY – Midcity Dog Days and sidewalk sale on 14th Street. This is important because I will be manning a table for the City Paper—stop by and say hi!
9:00 a.m. – Georgia Avenue Community Review. Howard University School of Architecture and Planning.
10:00 a.m. – Coalition for Smarter Growth leads Columbia Heights walking tour. Register here.
1:00 p.m. – Lecture by Roger K. Lewis on Postmodernism at the National Building Museum, 401 F Street, NW. Register at www.nbm.org.
