Another installment in an occasional series on restrooms of interest. Taking suggestions: ldepillis@washingtoncitypaper.com.

Today was my first-ever up-close-and-personal experience with Walmart, which my childhood pretty much omitted. I have to say, the Richmond Highway location felt very similar to the kinds of large retailers I’d frequented before, which may be due in part to the fact that this was a K-Mart until it went out of business. The restrooms are quite serviceable, with ample mirror space and intruiging wavy sinks, which I presume are stackable. The inoffensive taupe coloring, unlike the Target bathrooms’ bright red, accentuates the generic, workaday image for which Walmart strives. It all makes sense!
