Washington D.C. Economic Partnership CEO Steve Moore has resigned, sources confirmed today. Vice President for Development and Retail Keith Sellars, who has been with the WDCEP for nine years, will take over his position (in fact, in the few minutes since I spoke with Sellars, he’s been installed as president and CEO on the WDCEP’s staff page).
The Partnership has had money problems of late. Councilmember Jack Evans, who had been working with Moore to create a dedicated funding stream for the organization, didn’t know about his resignation before I contacted his office. Moore also didn’t notify the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development.
Sellars said that they had been planning a news release on Monday. An e-mail and call to Moore have not been returned. Will update as I get more.
UPDATE, 3:42 p.m. – The BizJo writes up some good background on Moore’s struggles with the city.
