For a while now, Bundy Development Corporation has been trying to shoehorn a cluster of townhouses onto a patch of green space behind warehouses off Bladensburg Avenue NE that they bought for $1.87 million in 2008. In response to community input, they reduced the number of units from between 39 and 44 to 24, and increased the parking from between 8 and 11 spaces to 18—-which is unfortunate. But it still looks like a nice project, with three stories on a small footprint and a pleasing backyard space between the homes (even the new Dakota Crossing townhouses a few blocks away feel more stark and unfriendly, sitting on the highway-like Fort Lincoln Drive).
The project hits the Zoning Commission next week. Designs after the jump.
