The first stretch of the D.C. streetcar was supposed to open this year. So was the first stretch of the Metro Silver Line. Now opening of the streetcar’s H Street-Benning Road NE line has been pushed back to early next year, with the District Department of Transportation hoping it’ll happen by March. And Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority officials are hoping that the Silver Line will open before March, as reported by WTOP yesterday.

But D.C.-area residents who have seen delays on these projects before aren’t holding their collective breath. So what do you think? Which project will actually open first? Take the poll below.

Update: The poll is now closed. Here are the results:

Which will open first: the streetcar or the Silver Line?
Streetcar: 34 percent
Silver Line: 46 percent
Neither; they’re both hoaxes: 14 percent
Both; transit officials are just holding us in suspense so they can open one mega-line from Tysons to the Anacostia River: 6 percent
