If the Obamas can have a garden, why not DCPS students? U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and The Food Network’s Aida Mollenkamp will visit the appropriately-named SEED School Wednesday to commemorate National Hunger Awareness Day with the opening of a Good Food Garden. The garden will provide fresh fruits and vegetables to students in need, sparing there families the high costs of Whole Foods and the unpredictable selection of local CSA’s (turnips, anyone?). No word on whether the garden will be as organic as the one Bo Obama whizzes in.
