Y&H just happened to be in Cleveland Park yesterday, doing his usual nighttime activity, when I walked past Sabores on Connecticut Avenue and noticed it was as dark as demiglace. Strange, I thought, for a restaurant to go dark on a Thursday.

Then I noticed this sign on the door, which I “photographed” with my cell phone (Day No. 29 without a digital camera!) to produce this marvel of photo-journalism. I tried calling the number for Sabores, which I pulled from its Web site, but my call rolled over to voicemail each of the three times I phoned.

Even stranger was the message: It was some automated voice that said nothing about Sabores, the restaurant. If anyone is in Cleveland Park this weekend, can you let me know if the restaurant is back up and running?
