Former WaPo reporter Ed Bruske has been ringing the bell, repeatedly, about the poor quality of the D.C. Public Schools’ lunch program, even after its so-called upgrade. He’s been pushing for, hmm, real upgrades.

DCPS should take a hard look at Ann Cooper’s work via her Food, Family, Farming Foundation, which launched the Lunch Boxtool kit to help school districts break from their dependence on frozen and bagged meals that are never touched by human hands. DCPS should also take a look at this video for a little inspiration.
