The Lagerheads are up to their ears in Canadian craft beer this week, but just because we are in Quebec doesn’t mean you can’t go out and enjoy some great beer in DC without us.
Monday you can get Climax Brewing Company’s Hoffmann Helles at Room 11 for their weekly guest tap series or enjoy pours from a firkin of Heavy Seas Siren Noire Imperial Chocolate Stout at Galaxy Hut. If beer celebs (and Belgian beer) are your thing, head over to Birreria Paradiso in Georgetown to meet St. Feuillien owner Dominique Friart and taste four of her Belgian beers. On Tuesday Friart will be at Brasserie Beck for a four-course, four-beer dinner prepared by Robert Wiedmaier. Check the calendar for the mouth-watering details.
On both Tuesday and Wednesday, you have chances to meet Bruce Williams, brewer and owner of Williams Brothers Brewing Company in Scotland. He will have several casks, some of his historic beers like Fraoch Heather Ale, as well as a sneak peak at the brewery’s new line of bottled beers.
Also on Wednesday is a Dogfish Head Aprihop release party at Union Jack’s in Bethesda and an East vs. West Coast beer dinner at Tuscarora Mill in Leesburg. Also outside DC, this weekend is the Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival at Timonium Fairgrounds outside Baltimore. Tickets for the same festival at the National Harbor in June sold out but you can still get tickets for Timonium.
