In a previous love letter on the subject, I speculated that the District had become a serious sandwich town. In further research on the topic, I spoke to a number of sources who disputed that notion. They laid out their arguments in the most recent Young & Hungry column.
Now, I have a great deal of respect for my sources. But I also think I eat out more often than some of them, and almost everywhere I turn these days, I’m finding good, artisanal sandwiches prepared with house-made breads, fine cured meats, hand-made sausages, and other quality ingredients.
Don’t believe me? Take a read at this week’s column, which digs into more than a dozen sandwiches in the District.
