Like the calm before the storm, this week is a little light on organized beer fun. Don’t be disappointed, your liver likely needs some rest before the mayhem of pre-and post-SAVOR events begin next week (scroll down in the calendar for a preview).
Monday is the regular guest tap series at Room 11. In time for great weather this week is Brooklyn Summer Ale.
Get your smart phones ready for the #DCBrews Tweet Up at ChurchKey on Tuesday. If the term “Tweet Up” makes you cringe, perhaps you are better off at the Belgian vs. American beer throw-down dinner at Granville Moore’s where Susan Greene of Global Brewers Guild will be guiding diners through five-courses and six-beers. You also have the option of heading to Belga Café for their monthly tasting dinner which features specially selected beers paired with a beer-prepared entrée and dessert.
Friday and Saturday there are beer tastings and Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits, and if you are up for a road trip, you can head to Frederick for the Maryland Brewers Springfest.
