Birch & Barley and 2941 each took home a pair of RAMMYs at the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington‘s annual awards ceremony and gala on Sunday evening. Scott Drewno of The Source by Wolfgang Puck won in the “Chef of the Year” category.
Birch & Barley was named the association’s best new restaurant and, along with its upstairs sister bar ChurchKey, home to the “hottest restaurant bar scene.” 2941 won the “fine dining” award and its dessertist Anthony Chavez was named top pastry chef.
The awards were handed out in a surprisingly swift ceremony at the Marriott Wardman Park. RAMW officials sharpened the program from past years, when attendees complained about a long-winded awards presentation that yawned its way through a mediocre seated dinner.
The complete list of winners can be found at the RAMW’s website.
