WCP has rounded up a list of D.C. bars and restaurants that will have World Cup specials, but there is one place that many local beer lovers have been hoping to be at to see U.S.A. beat England on Saturday.

Just in time for the one of the biggest games of the World Cup, Biergarten Haus, the German-style beer garden, bar, and restaurant on H Street, NE, will open this Friday, June 11. Originally slated to open in mid-May, owner Aaron McGovern and his partners decided to delay the grand opening to make sure the were ready.

We, especially Bruce who spent time studying and drinking (they go hand in hand) in Bavaria, have long yearned for an authentic German beer garden to come to D.C. If you are like us, we are likely to see you there this weekend or after. Prost!
