This must take an early lead in the most ridiculous attempt to pair up a holiday theme with restaurant marketing. Take it away, EatBar!
Arlington, VA (December 3, 2010) – EatBar welcomes guests to wear their itchy, their fuzzy, their wooly and their synthetic sweaters to the gastropub’s Ugly Sweater Party on Sunday, December 19th from 6 PM – 1 AM.
Watch the classic holiday flick, A Christmas Story, while knocking back holiday cocktails, such as the spiked peppermint patty cocoa and housemade apple-infused bourbon. There will also be passed snacks, including popcorn and candy canes.
In exchange for the awesome and utter humiliation of actually wearing Nana’s lovingly hand-knit sweater in public, EatBar will give the winning best “worst sweater” the film’s iconic Leg Lamp.
No reservations are necessary to attend and admission is free.
Now, if being in a room full of people wearing ugly sweaters isn’t enticing enough on its own, Greg Engert‘s beer selections might be more of a draw: “[T]his year’s drafts include extremely rare and complex holiday brews, which serve as the perfect winter warmers and complement Executive Chef Barry Koslow’s nuanced cuisine,” according to a press release.
