Chipotle is facing some heat from the feds that could force the chain to fire workers for not having proper documentation proving eligibility to work in the United States. As The Wall Street Journal reports, the chain “was notified several months ago by Immigration and Customs Enforcement that it must undergo an audit of its I-9 forms, which verify eligibility for employment.”
After a similar employment verification effort in Minnesota prompted the firing of hundreds of workers there, 60 Chipotle restaurants in D.C. and Virginia are now up next for inspection.
